The Day Aidan Met Snow

Grindelwald gifted us the most dreamy winter light that afternoon.
This lovely family traveled all the way from Malaysia to Switzerland to fulfill a beautiful promise — that Aidan’s first experience of snow would be in Grindelwald.
Syeeda once told me:
“Three years ago, when Aidan saw a photo of me and Fauzan in China’s Snow Town, I told him that one day his first snow would be in Grindelwald. We laughed about it then, because I didn’t know if it would ever happen.”
And yet… here they were.
I felt so happy for them — and deeply grateful that I could be there to capture such a meaningful moment in their lives.
Sometimes I ask myself what I truly give through my work.
Is it just photographs?
Or something deeper?
When I look at these images, I see more than a family on holiday.
I see genuine smiles.
Warmth shared in quiet moments.
And a little boy experiencing snow for the very first time.
Moments that pass in an instant — but stay in the heart forever.
We live in a time where anyone can take beautiful photos with a phone.
But what I love about photography is the chance to slow down, to observe, to feel — and to preserve a moment exactly as it was: honest, emotional, and full of life.
And if these photos one day bring them back to this feeling…
then that is more than enough for me.
