A Decade of Love in the Swiss Alps — 10 Year Anniversary Session

Van and Dat travelled halfway across the world for this — from the busy streets of Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, all the way to the Swiss Alps. Not for a vacation. For a milestone. Ten years of marriage, a family they built together, and children they are raising with the same love they have always given each other. This trip was their moment — just the two of them — to breathe, to remember, and to celebrate how far they have come.
Ten years is not a small thing. It's a decade of choosing each other — through the ordinary Tuesdays, the hard seasons, the moments that tested everything, and the quiet ones that made it all worth it. It's school runs and sleepless nights, inside jokes and growing pains, and somehow through all of it, still reaching for each other's hand.
Some anniversaries deserve more than a dinner table. They deserve mountains.
We spent eight hours together across four villages, and the Alps gave us every kind of sky — soft clouds wrapping Wengen in stillness, warm sun flooding the valley in Lauterbrunnen, mist rolling over the peaks in Mürren, and gentle rain falling over Gimmelwald as the day came to a close. It was as if the mountains already knew their story.
As a photographer, I've witnessed a lot of love. But there's something different about a couple ten years in — the way they move together, the way they laugh, the way he looks at her when she isn't watching. It doesn't perform. It just is.
Every kind of weather found us that day. And every single moment was beautiful. Just like ten years together should be.
Swiss Alps, Switzerland
Wengen · Lauterbrunnen · Mürren · Gimmelwald
Wengen (9:30 – 11:00)
The day began in Wengen. Clouds sitting low, yellow wildflowers spilling over old stone walls, the village quiet and unhurried. There's something about a soft morning light that makes people open up — and Van and Dat were already at ease with each other in the way only ten years can bring. We wandered, we laughed, we let the village set the pace. The perfect place to begin.
Lauterbrunnen (12:30 – 13:40)
Then the sun came out. We took the train down into the valley and Lauterbrunnen opened up before us — towering cliffs on both sides, a glacial river running cold and fast, and that warm afternoon light that makes everything feel a little golden. Van in her pink dress by the water. Dat watching her like no time had passed at all. After a morning in the clouds, this felt like stepping into a painting.
Mürren (15:00 – 15:50)
No roads reach Mürren. You take a cable car up and leave the world behind. By the time we arrived, the clouds had rolled back in — draping the peaks in mist, cooling the air, turning the old timber chalets into something out of a fairytale. The parasol came back out. The light went soft and cinematic. Some places don't need sunshine to be beautiful. Mürren is one of them.
Gimmelwald (16:00 – 16:50)
The rain found us in Gimmelwald — and honestly, it was perfect. This tiny village, barely on the map, has an honesty shop with no shopkeeper and a mountain hostel that feels frozen in time. We shot in the drizzle, laughed between drops, held hands in front of a striped awning. It was unhurried and unguarded and completely real. The best kind of ending. The Alps said goodbye in the gentlest way — quietly, softly, and with rain.
It's a privilege to witness love like this. Not the kind that performs for the camera, but the kind that just exists — quietly, warmly, through every kind of weather. Van and Dat, thank you for bringing me along on this journey. I hope these images remind you, always, of the day the Alps celebrated ten years of you.
